Interior of Philadelphia Cathedral: Modeled After the Vatican Basilica

Remarkable who much the interior resembles that of St. Peter's Basilica.  In many ways like the Cathedral of Montreal, in Canada.

  1. This is a magnificent cathedral church. Well worth a visit should anyone be in Philly. Sadly, although on a less significant note, the galeros of the deceased cardinal archbishops no longer hang from the ceiling...they were removed. Some say they were removed during renovations in the 1950s and lost while others claim Cardinal Krol removed them. A mystery.
However, the cathedral is surely a beautiful sacred place worthy of the Divine Presence.
